🌿 Join the Seasons Ecology Team – We’re Hiring an Ecological Consultant / Environmental Planner
Seasons Ecology is seeking a confident Ecological Consultant / Environmental Planner (Ecology‑focused) to support our growing range of ecological and planning work as part of our small, supportive team.
The Role
Based in Tonedale, Wellington on the Somerset/Devon border, this role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of ecological and planning projects primarily across the South West. From early‑stage ecological inputs to post‑consent support, you’ll be involved across the full planning lifecycle, always with the backing of an experienced, friendly and steady team.
Ecological consultancy is a rewarding and varied career, and part of what makes it exciting is its fast pace. Like most consultancy work, there are seasonal peaks, tight deadlines and moments when clients need quick, supportive responses. We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable with this rhythm; someone organised, proactive and able to stay calm and effective when things get busy.
But you won’t be handling this alone. As a small, supportive CIEEM Registered Practice, we work collaboratively and make sure pressure is shared fairly. We plan carefully, communicate openly and use TOIL, flexibility and considerate resourcing to maintain a healthy balance. In CIEEM’s 2025 audit, staff feedback recognised us as a “good employer” that prioritises wellbeing, development and good working practices.
What We Offer
Alongside competitive pay and varied, meaningful project work, we’re committed to offering benefits that genuinely support our team. These include:
- 20 days annual leave (plus 8 statutory holidays), increasing by 1 day each year of service up to 25 days
- Flexible working arrangements
- TOIL (time off in lieu) for additional hours worked
- Climate Perks, supporting low‑carbon travel choices
- Budget and structured support for training, upskilling and continued professional development
- Being part of a CIEEM Registered Practice with independently verified good working practices
- A stable, friendly and collaborative working environment
If you’re looking for a role where your contribution genuinely matters, and where you can develop your ecological and planning skills in a supportive, values‑driven environment, this could be the perfect next step.
