We are currently seeking a Consultant Ecologist (fixed term maternity cover) and Senior Consultant Ecologist (permanent) as summarised below.  For further information on either position, including the qualifications and experience required, please follow the relevant links.

Consultant Ecologist – 1-year maternity cover (may be extended for the right candidate).  Starting October 2018.  Part-time and/or flexible working may be possible for the right candidate.  Tiverton based.  £20k to £25k

We are thrilled that our Consultant Ecologist is having a baby, but her temporary departure will leave a huge gap in our team…  As such Seasons Ecology is looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and professional Consultant Ecologist to join our small team near Tiverton, Devon.  Applicants should be experienced and competent in managing projects, undertaking a range of surveys, acting as Ecological Clerk of Works and compiling technical reports as well as happy to get involved in the everyday running of the business, such as administration, marketing and sales.

Senior Consultant Ecologist (with a focus on bats).  Permanent post.  Part-time and/or flexible working may be possible for the right candidate.  Tiverton based.  £25k to £32k

A significant amount of our work relates to bats.  In 2017 the two Partners acted as the Named Ecologists on 16 EPS licences in respect to bats and we are currently working on a nationally important site that supports 19% of the UK breeding population of greater horseshoe bats.

Whilst this position is largely to lead, manage and develop bat related work within the business there is a requirement for the successful candidate to manage and input into a range of ecological projects.  As such applicants should have broad knowledge, understanding and practical experience relating to all aspects of ecological consultancy.  Candidates must have appropriate qualifications (to include a Natural England Class 2 bat licence) and experience (including acting as the Named Ecologist on mitigation licences), proven project management skills and great communication skills.

Applicants for both positions must be happy to work unsociable hours and to travel across the country with overnight stays when required.  A full UK driving licence and car insured for business use is essential.

To apply for either position, please send a CV and covering letter clearly stating which position you are applying for to lucy.bucknall@seasonsecology.co.uk

Closing date: 30th August 2018
